The Lab around the core has costs, and they are concrete. Support goes, in this order:
- Compute
The machines that build, test, and evaluate the software.
- Hardware
Evaluation and reproducibility boxes; nothing fancy, kept honest by measuring before buying.
- Infrastructure
Hosting for the optional public services as they arrive (and only as traffic earns them).
- Research time
The unforgiving part: benchmarks, evaluations, and the writing that makes results checkable.
- External audits
Paying people who do not work for us to try to break what we build.
- Public datasets and artifacts
Synthetic corpora, receipts, and reproduction packages that keep the results verifiable by anyone.
Two rules keep this clean: the core never gets metered, and evaluation money never touches evaluation methodology. Independence is the product.

Modes are scoped per season and start from the problem, not a package. Nothing below is for sale; each is a way to fund or join work that already exists.
Research collaboration
Joint work on persistent-agent evaluation, continuity, and governed agency. You bring a system or a question; the lab brings the harness and the discipline.
Integration partnership
Making WhiteMagic work well in your MCP client, framework, or deployment. Public write-ups either way.
Sponsored research
Fund a specific question with a public report at the end. Method stays the lab's, results stay published, losses included.
Grants and foundations
Non-dilutive support for the trust and verifiability work is welcome; the evidence is public.
What the lab will not do
Sell favorable results, gate the local core, or quietly change a method to flatter a sponsor. If a result embarrasses WhiteMagic, it ships anyway — that is the point.

Grants and foundations are welcome to fund the security, trust, and verifiability work. Support here is non-dilutive: no equity, no board seat, no licensing strings. Funded work ships in the open — artifacts are public, failures included, and methods are written down so a careful stranger can check them.
Where a funded scope matches work already underway, the lab applies; application details and internal strategy stay private. What can be shown publicly lives on the research pages, claims labelled with their evidence type.
